November Newsletter

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the first newsletter for the BEC!! I am sorry that it took me so long to get this out but life has been a little hectic at the moment, as a result I will try to cover both October and November in this newsletter and then let you know the details for December's rally.

In October the Donald Show made way for our normal rally. It was great to see some of our riders out competing in the HRCAV ring! Congratulations to them for putting in the effort, in particular to Ruth Holmes who took out the high point award. It was also great to see some of our members helping out in various different ways.

The Monday after the Donald Show was the AGM. It was great to see a good number at the meeting, particularly with some having very busy weekends. At the meeting a club mission statement was introduced and voted on. I will put the mission statement at the end of this newsletter. The Office bearers were then elected, with most positions staying the same. We welcomed Sarah McWilliam as Vice President, Michelle Murray as Assistant Rally Co-ordinator and myself as the newsletter editor.
Rally ideas were then discussed and it was confirmed that we had Lynne McIntyre booked for 6 dates over the 2015, to be combined with Donald and Charlton Pony Clubs.  An idea was brought forward to run an internal Dressage Training Day. A calender will be sent out in the not to distant future.

The November Rally was held at Donald Pony Club. We had Lynn McIntyre take flat lessons and Brodi Leversha take jumping lessons. We only had a small number of riders, but that allowed for smaller groups and longer lessons that allowed everyone to get the help that they needed. I am sure everyone had a great day and learnt a lot from both instructors.

A congratulations to the girls who competed at the TTT's this month. It was great to hear that you had a great time and that you were pleased with how you went. Hopefully next year there will be more of us joining you.

The December Rally will be our Christmas breakup. It will be held at the Wooroonook Lakes on Sunday the 7th of December. There will be trail rides around the lake and probably an opportunity to take the horses in the water. There will be a BBQ lunch. Meat will be provided for a donation and each family is asked to bring a salad and a sweet to share. Please let either myself or Jill McEwen (mountviewjill@gmail.com) know by Thursday whether you will be attending or not so that we can organise the meat.

Finally, just a reminder that there is a new facebook page after something happened to our old page. This is the link to it: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100005652917610. Also a reminder that we do have a website, the address to that is: http://bulokeec.blogspot.com.au/. If anyone has anything that they would like to be added to the newsletter (results, upcoming events, etc.), or if you want to send me photos that I can use on the website and in the newsletter please send it to melinda.j.mcewen@live.com.au.

Hope you all have a great month!
Melinda.
